What is re:stocked?

Furniture poverty is a growing issue in the UK.

People on low income, those living in social housing, and members of minority ethnic groups are disproportionately affected.

Here at Restocked CIC, we think it’s simply about access. What if we could locate, recover and revive those items being thrown away and make them accessible to those who need it most?

We aim to collect donated items from local residents, restore them and put them back into communities that need them, at affordable prices. All the while, showing our communities how to repair and reuse.

  • 26% of those living in social housing are going without at least one piece of necessary furniture

  • An estimated £2.2 billion worth of homeware items (furniture, cushions, lamps) are sent to landfills each year

  • The rise of 'fast homeware' has led to one in six people changing their decor every year and millions of usable items ending up in landfill.

  • Through your furniture donations, we can save good quality furniture from going to landfill. Then, restore and revive it.
